Want to transform West Virginia?
Fighting to make WV the best place to live, work, and raise a family – no matter who you are.
WV Healthy Kids and Families Coalition is a statewide movement-building organization. We put power in the hands of everyday West Virginians – like you – to take charge of their communities.
Interested in policy change?
Join Our Children, Our Future – a grassroots policy campaign that’s won 28 victories in 4 years from raising the minimum wage for 127,000 families to expanding school breakfast programs by 5.8 million meals. Policy change starts with people like you, hosting a forum, or organizing a bus to the Capitol, or coming up with a policy idea. Contact Chris Kimes.
Want to build a healthier community?
Try This West Virginia (www.trythiswv.com) was created to knock WV off the top of the worst health lists, community by community. Since 2014, we have provided mini grants ($500 – $3000) to 204 local teams statewide and are offering Second Stage grants ($5 – $15K) to help them create projects that increase access to healthy food or physical activity. Check us out on Facebook.
Want to strengthen your local public school?
Many parents want to make WV schools stronger (mentoring programs, entrepreneurship, improving curriculum, school gardens, etc.). We can help. See www.wvparents4wellness.com or e-mail Jenny Anderson (email@example.com) for a big dose of the information you need. In Fall 2018, we’ll host our second Families Leading Change Summit. Apply for a mini grant (up to $2,000) for family-led school teams that make a difference. Contact Jenny Anderson
